Instructions
Dry toast the cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon stick for a minute until fragrant and then grind into a powder using a spice grinder.
Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the onions on a low heat until soft. Add the ground spices and the turmeric and cook for a minute.
Add the remaining ingredients, cover the pan with a lid and cook on a low heat for 12 minutes or until the rice is done.
Notes
You can also add some additional vegetables such as frozen peas.
